VICTORICA “Where La Pampa was born ”
Victorica, first pampean town. Founded on February, 12th, 1882.
It is located 150 km. from Santa Rosa (Pampean capital) and 30 km. from San Luis Province´s border zone. Its approach roads are Provincial Route Nº10, which connects the East with the West of the province and Provincial Route Nº105, linking the town to the South of San Luis and the province´s South-Center.
It has an estimated population of 6.000 inhabitants. Its economic activity is based upon bovine cattle raising. Geographically speaking, it stands out as the heart of the caldén forest.

-"Parque Indígena Leuvucó": (Leuvucó Aboriginal Park) River water. Situated 25km. from Victorica, on Provincial Route Nº105. It was the most populated town in the region. About 8.000 aborigines dwelled on the borders of Leuvucó Lagoon. Here lies the “Enterratorio”, burial site holding the mortal remains of Mariano Rosas -last native chief- as well as a monument to Ranquel community.
-“Parque Los Pisaderos”: (Los Pisaderos Park) Historical, recreational and home of the last Ranquel local settlers. Declared Provincial Historical Site. On its premises can be appreciated “the Cristo del Monte” (Christ of the forest), carved on a dry caldén tree.
-“Plaza Héroes de Cochicó”: (Cochicó Heroes Square) Located in the core of Victorica. Here rest the mortal remains of the National Army soldiers who fought against Ranquel aboriginal people at Cochicó battle.
-“Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Carmen”: (Church) The Army builds up the chapel with the help of local settlers, in 1.886. At present, the building keeps up its original dome.
-“Salón de los Espejos”: (Mirror Room) Multiple-purpose room. It comprises the city´s historical heritage and was fully rebuilt in 1.999. Highly valuable objects are exhibited here, such as the mirrors donated by the military man Benjamín Victorica, as well as the furniture and chandeliers that light up the Room.
-“Biblioteca Popular Bartolomé Mitre”: (Popular Library) First library in the province, founded in 1.905. Valuable objects which had formerly belonged to its founder, Félix Romero, can be observed inside, together with more than 3.000 books that he donated to the library.
