Eduardo Castex is located on National Highway Nº35 and the Provincial Highway Nº102. Due to the significance of the railway, the 20 September, 1908, was selected as the city´s foundation date after a special train, coming from Buenos Aires, arrived then to the city as a consequence of the festivities that the Italian community, recently settled, had prepared in homage to their national history: "The Italian Day".

It is an agricultural, cattle-breeding city of approximately 10.000 inhabitants, and at present the fourth most populated city in the province.

An educational tourist circuit comprises historical, cultural, as well as recreational areas, encompassing the local cultural heritage and tourist offers as a whole.

The circuit is based on the history and culture of its people. Some of the destinations to visit are: "La Estación de Ferrocarril" (Railway Station), "Museo Histórico Municipal" (Local Historical Museum), "Plazoleta de La Nación Argentina" (Railway Station Small Square- opposite the monument to Domingo F. Sarmiento), "Banco de la Nación Argentina" (Argentine Nation Bank), "el Antiguo Almacén de Ramos Generales" (the ancient Grocery Store), going past the "Monumento al Trabajo" (Monument to Labor), "Biblioteca Popular San Martín" (San Martín Popular Library), "Casa de la Cultura" (Culture House), "plaza San Martín" (San Martín Square), "Monumento a la Madre" (Monument to the Mother), "Centro Cívico" (Civic Center), Iglesia Sagrado Corazón de Jesús" (Jesus´ holy heart Church), "Monumento al General San Martín" (Monument to General San Martín), "Reloj Cu-Cú" (Cu-cu Clock), "Parque de los Dinosaurios" (Dinosaur Park), "Monumento a ex combatientes y caídos en Malvinas" (Monument to the soldiers who fought and fell on the Malvinas War), "Parque Recreativo Municipal" (Local Recreational Park), "Parque Municipal Bartolomé E.
